Greetings, AASIU Members!

Here is an update of all that is upcoming:

DEC 12 MEETING –

AASIU is proud to present the Dec. 12 meeting to be a Live Burn – Free Fire Training provided by Keith Paffrath with Forensic Fire Consultants at Phoenix Fire.  From 10AM to 12PM training will include classroom and field demonstrations on fire ignition, fire spread, and the fire effects/patterns left behind for interpretation.  We will have a LIVE BURN of a household kitchen and a LIVE BURN of a vehicle to demonstrate what to look for in each scenario.  The training will be at the Phoenix Fire Academy located at 2425 West Lower Buckeye Road Phoenix, AZ.  Food and beverage will be provided.  Please RSVP to info@aasiu.com or valerie.lipton@farmersinsurance.com by Friday, December 1st.  This training is open to all SIU and claims adjusters.  This will be a great opportunity to network with other members. Feel free to forward to CRs in Property and Auto.

OPEN ELECTIONS

We will be having open elections for ALL BOARD POSITIONS in December.  If you or someone you know is interested in serving on the AASIU board, please send an email to info@aasiu.com with your name, contact information and what board position you are interested in.  There are several board positions available.  Please respond to this request by Friday, December 1st so we can determine interest and candidacy for each person.

Here are the Position Descriptions:

President – The President is the Chief Executive Officer. It shall be his/her responsibility to supervise and coordinate the activities of the Arizona Association of Special Investigation Units (AASIU). The President shall preside at meetings, including the Board of Directors meetings, and shall appoint appropriate committees if needed to be responsible for the activities of the Arizona Association of Special Investigation Units.

Vice President – The Vice President shall preside in the absence of the President. It shall be the Duty of the Vice President to assist the President in any matter of the Association business.

Secretary – The Secretary shall keep the records and minutes of meetings, retain, and preserve the constitution and bylaws, and maintain a current list of all members.

Treasurer – Treasurer shall be custodian and depositor of funds of the Arizona Association of Special Investigation Units. Funds shall only be disbursed as authorized and approved by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall make a complete reporting at the annual meeting and to the Board of Directors at each Board meeting.

Board Members –

  1. The Board of Directors shall consist of (8) eight members, including the four Officers and the balance from other regular members of the Association duly elected. The outgoing President will become a non-voting consultant to the Board of Directors for a period of one year after leaving office.
  2. Each member of the Board of Directors shall act as a liaison to our local chapter in a spirit to foster communication and teamwork for the advancement of the purposes and objectives of AASIU.

MEMBER DIRECTOR UPDATE

If you or someone you know has changed positions or your contact information has changed, please go to our website at Member Directory Update Request | Arizona Chapter of IASIU (aasiu.com) to update your information so we can update our roster.  There has been a lot of movement within our community over the past few months and we want to reconnect with any members whose information has recently changed.

RENEWALS

You can be a member of the AZ Chapter – AASIU without also being a member of International/IASIU –

For anyone who wants to just join AZ chapter, you can renew your membership by sending payment of $30 to our association P.O. Box listed on the AASIU website under contact info- (PO Box 38422, Phoenix, AZ 85021).  You just need to include who you are renewing membership for with your payment.

**If you want to renew with IASIU, you can log into your account at www.iasiu.org.

Anyone who wants to be a member of International and AZ Chapter can renew their membership through IASIU website and make sure they select AZ chapter dues.
